NURSING COORDINATOR
Monica Perez
Monica works full time as the Nursing Coordinator at Gary Wagner, M.D. having originally joined the practice as a junior Medical Assistant several years ago. She currently works in various areas of direct patient care and also handles all aspects of tertiary referrals, working with Bay Area universities as well as local surgeons and others to obtain optimal care for our patients. She also coordinates lab requests and patient education and instruction. She is excellent at streamlining referral protocol and is a valuable patient advocate in the ever-growing complexities of the managed care process. She came to us highly recommended having completed her externship with a local physician, a friend of Dr. Wagner's, who felt she would be an asset to our organization given that he didn't at that time have a position open. He was correct! Monica volunteered for cross-training in other areas of the office and has mastered reception duties, computer scheduling and filling in where necessary when not busy in the back office. She manages medical supplies and orders as well as coordinates inventory for our Retail Sales Area where she is has also received training in our various product lines. She has a daughter and a younger son and enjoys spending time with friends and family and being involved with the children's school activities and fundraising projects. We are delighted to have her as a member of our staff. |
