AGE SPOTS AND BROWN SPOTS
As children we all have great skin. The color and texture is even and smooth. The more days we spend in the sun and on the planet, the more we seem to develop irregularities of the skin. Particularly annoying are those brown spots on the face and arms that seem to come out of nowhere one day and never go away. Now, thanks to laser technology, we can get rid of those annoying age spots with the Nd:YAG laser. This remarkable device targets the pigment granules in the brown spots and destroys them without harming or scarring the skin. There is mild but transient discomfort that feels much like bacon grease splatter. What one sees is an immediate white frost, followed minutes later by a red welt and subsequently a crust. Premature removal of the crust is to be avoided by using a moisturizer or covering the area until the crust comes off by itself. When this crust comes off, so does the age spot! Sometimes the skin may remain whiter than the surrounding skin for a month or two but the color will even out with time. The results can be dramatic!
The above photos illustrate the before and after results in two different individuals.treated for brown spots of the hands.
