ACNE TREATMENTS
We offer traditional treatments for acne which include oral antibiotics, topical retinoids (Retin-A®, Differin®, and Tazorac®) and topical benzoyl peroxide and topical antibiotics. Accutane® (isotretinoin) is sometimes used when individuals fail to respond to these traditional treatments but Accutane® therapy has been severely restricted in it's distribution by the FDA. The listed side effects of Accutane® and the rigors of the new I-Pledge program limits it's use. Since some patients have concerns about the side effects of antibiotics and Accutane (isotretinoin), many patients prefer to treat their acne with modalities that do not involve the use of oral and systemic medication. We offer treatments with the BLU-U light alone or in combination with Levulan® (Amino-Levulinic Acid). This exciting new procedure is called PHOTODYNAMIC THERAPY.
